The CPRF Exercise & Wellness Program promotes fitness for people with disabilities through strength training, building flexibility, and pain-controlling exercises.

Personalized & Accessible Fitness

Our certified restorative aide works individually with clients in a private gym setting, located on the Timbers campus in Wichita, Kansas. An occupational or physical therapist writes all exercise programs for each client.

Eligibility Requirements

Clients must have a documented disability and be under the care of a doctor (MD/PA/APRN/DO) who is willing to sign off on OT/PT recommendations. An income sliding fee scale may apply.

Accessible Fitness Equipment

Equipment & activities include:

  • Parallel bars, walkers & standing frame
  • Elliptical machine & cardio strider (seated elliptical)
  • Paragym (wheelchair-accessible weight machine)
  • Fine motor training
  • Stationary bikes, hand cycles, free weights & more!

  • Do I have to have cerebral palsy to receive services?

    No, the CPRF Exercise and Wellness Program serves people with any physical disability who are 18 years old or older.

  • Is the program free?

    For most clients, yes. For some, a sliding fee may apply depending on household monthly income:

    Family of 1
    0 – $2,183/month: No session fee
    $2,184 – 2,283/month: 20% of session fee
    $2,284 – 2,283/month: 30% of session fee
    $2,384 – 2,483/month: 40% of session fee
    and so on.

    Family of 2
    $0 – 2,855/month: No session fee
    $2,856 – 2,95/month: 20% of session fee
    $2,956 – 3,055: 30% of session fee
    $3,056 – 3,155: 40% of session fee
    and so on.

  • Does my insurance get billed?

    We will bill Medicaid if the client has it but no other 3rd party insurance is invoiced.

  • How do I get started?

    Our certified restorative aide will request a prescription from your medical provider (MD/PA/APRN) so you can meet with our physical therapist to design your program. Once you meet with the physical therapist, our certified restorative aide will help you schedule a day and time to visit the facility.

  • What are the facility hours?

    Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

CPRF partners with United Way of the Plains and Sedgwick County to provide fitness services for people with disabilities in our area.
